Girls Soccer had their senior night yesterday, now I know it seems early but with few home games and the track being rubberized we had to hold it early. This was a very fitting game, it was districts and we need to win as many as we can to get in to playoffs. We have only 2 seniors, but they are a big part of our team. Diana Resto in goal and Ana Flores in midfield. The game started slow Esabella Diaz scored from the left side with a stunning shot. Then we got a penalty which allowed Diana to line up for her first opportunity to score a goal. Goalies don’t usually have the chance to score so allowing her this on her senior night, can’t image anything better. It was fitting that she scored. Esabella scored another before half time. Leading 3-0 at halftime is a good position, but I knew we were better and I needed them to see that they could use this to perfect shape and passing and use this going forward. They came back out in the second half with a fury. We didn’t just dominate play but we starting stringing passes together that we didn’t before. Our shape and communication was clicking. Michelle Yangui scored, Katerin Padilla scored, Lillie Gomez scored 2 and Esabella got her hat trick to round out a 8-0 win and an early night for us to enjoy with our seniors. They played extremely well and I was a very proud coach. If you see these ladies make sure to congratulate them and cheer them on as we continue our season!
